Dunkin’ Donuts High School Player of the Week

The "Dunkin' Donuts High School Player of the Week" program will recognize players who are stars on and off-the-field. Student athletes from the Capital Region, southern Vermont and western Massachusetts who demonstrate leadership, dedication and perseverance in school and in the community can be nominated by coaches, athletic directors and sports fans for this honor. The program will recognize not only the best athletes on each team, but also those who dedicate time to youth groups, volunteer organizations, or have overcome a personal obstacle or illness.

Send your story ideas and nominations to the WNYT Sports Department at sports@wnyt.com.

The Dunkin' Donuts High School Player of the Week will be profiled in a segment during sports every Tuesday on NewsChannel 13 Live at 6.

Dunkin' Donuts will donate $500 to a general scholarship fund on behalf of each High School Player of the Week. Scholarships totaling $20,000 will be awarded in the spring. This $20,000 is in addition to the $140,000 Dunkin' Donuts donated to schools in Section II, western MA and southern VT, from March 2005 to June 2009.
