Posted at: 07/13/2009 11:17 AM Communication: say what you mean - the life saving and quality of life implicationsOkay, this is a two-fer. First the serious stuff. I was going through my inbox this morning and came across an article that was pushed aside, probably because it was a busy morning. The upshot of the findings is that too often doctors don't tell their patients when the test results are bad. So that old adage, no news is good news is not only true, believing it can have devastating, even deadly consequences. If you want to read the article check it out at http://www.newswise.com/articles/view/553587/?sc=dwtr;xy=5017143 The take home message - if you undergo any medical testing and you DON'T hear from your doctor, CALL. Second: the fun stuff. I'm out walking with the dog and friends and other pups this morning and we see a sign -newly installed - it reads: 'BE PREPARED TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR ANIMAL" failure to do so can result in a $250 fine. HUH? Is the town telling me all I have to do is make like a boy scout and 'be prepared' You mean, if I wave the bag around that's enough - I can still leave the droppings on the ground? Look, I realize what the sign means, but that's not what it says. If you've seen any signage you think needs to be fixed .. share it with us. Hey, it's Monday - we all need a giggle.
