Newer homes needed for developmentally disabled

LATHAM - Caring for people with developmental disabilities as they age can present challenges.

Thanks to a movement started more than 25 years ago, most are living in home-like settings as opposed to institutions.

But many of those group homes aren't geared to the needs of an aging population -- and that can mean trouble and heartbreak.
