Man charged with stabbing his mother
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Police are accusing a 20-year-old Saratoga Springs man of stabbing his mother outside their home early Tuesday morning.
Police said Nicholas Ture, who lives with his parents at 15 Van Rensselaer St., stabbed his mother, Dru Ture, several times with a pair of knives around 8 a.m. outside their residence.
Police said Dru Ture, Nicholas Ture’s mother, sustained multiple stab wounds to her neck and chest.
Two city workers from the nearby Department of Public Works garage on Van Rensselaer Street who heard the assault were assisting Dru Ture when police arrived, authorities said.
Those workers, who have not been identified by police, are credited with helping to save her life, police said.
Dru Ture was later sent to the Albany Medical Center for treatment, but her condition remains unknown at this time.
During his arraignment Tuesday in Saratoga Springs City Court, Nicholas Ture told Judge Jeffrey Wait that the allegations made against him were false and untrue.
"I didn’t do this," he said.
Nicholas Ture has been charged with first-degree assault, a felony, and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, in the case.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to City Court on Thursday.
