Poll still bad news for Paterson

LOUDONVILLE - The latest survey from Siena Research Institute released Tuesday morning puts Gov. Paterson's ratings near record lows.

Only 19 percent of New Yorkers surveyed say Paterson is doing a good job while 79 percent give a negative job performance rating.

In a hypothetical Democratic primary Paterson loses to state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo 70 to 20 percent.

In general election match-ups, Paterson loses to former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani 56 to 33 percent. But Cuomo would beat Giuliani 50 to 43 percent.
