Voters head to polls on Election Day

ALBANY - The polls opened early this morning and will close at 9 p.m. in New York.

One of the races to watch in the Capital Region is in Colonie. The Democrats will try to hold onto the town supervisor's job after upsetting the long-tenured Republicans two years ago.

Incumbent Supervisor Paula Mahan argues she inherited a $19 million deficit and has cut it in half.

The Republicans are throwing everything into winning, bringing former state Sen. and County Executive Mike Hoblock out of retirement.

There is a three-way race for mayor in Albany. Mayor Jerry Jennings is heavily favored to win a fifth term as long as Democrats come out and vote. He's facing off with the man he defeated in the Democratic primary, Corey Ellis, on the Working Families Party ticket and Republican Nathan Lebron.

Saratoga Springs could have the first Korean-American mayor in New York. Democratic Public Safety Commissioner Ron Kim is challenging incumbent Scott Johnson.

Two buildings are at the center of their discord. Johnson supports a new recreational center, which will soon be complete. Kim wants a new public safety building which remains just an idea.
