Among those details are accusations 44-year-old Officer Alan Vigiard possessed pictures of teen girls from his town. Vigiard, a member of his department's sexual assault unit, is accused of downloading pornographic images of children right onto the computer inside the police evidence room. According to police, they were tipped off when two CDs were turned over to the Berkshire County district attorney's office. The discs were part of a larceny investigation being conducted by the Adams Police Department. But on one of the discs though, police say they discovered a folder with more than 150 images of naked children, some in sexual acts. The court papers go on to read that also mixed into the pictures was several photos of clothed teenage girls, from the Adams area. It's not just pictures. Police say one of the discs also contains a video of a man masturbating. While they can't see the man's face, state police investigators determined the background to be the evidence room at the Adams Police Department. They also say the man had a distinctive scar on his left hand that matches the one on Vigiard's hand when they arrested him on Thursday. Investigators go on to add they discovered the file sharing software Limewire downloaded onto the evidence room computer. As state police were conducting their investigation and even meeting with the Adams police chief, they claim Vigiard was inside the evidence room, on the computer trying to delete downloaded movies. Vigiard is out on bail. He's been placed on administrative leave. If convicted he faces up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
