Murder suspect released from jail

TROY - A Troy man charged with murder has been released from jail.

Rensselaer County District Attorney Richard McNally says he wasn't ready to go forward with the case against Tyrone Chaires.

Chaires is accused of shooting Jimmy Chapman in the head on Oct. 13. Chapman died the next day at Albany Medical Center.

McNally' says they weren't prepared to proceed with a preliminary hearing. So the judge had no other choice but to release Chaires.

The charges against Chaires still stand.
