To date, H1N1 has killed more than 6,000 people worldwide. Tomorrow, Albany County will dole out about 4,500 doses at the Times Union Center. 2,290 people have made appointments for the Sunday shot. About 600 health teens made it to the Times Union Center Friday night for the Albany River Rats. But some kids were home sick. "I was nervous because a bunch of people at my school had it. Everyone's out sick. No one left in school, everyone home sick," said Sarah Morris. The Albany County Health Department has been unable to provide us with someone to speak on camera about the vaccination clinic. We're told the county hopes the reason that not everyone has registered is because those in the highest risk groups have already received their vaccine from their doctor. Some people just don't like going to a mass clinic. The clinic is only open to people in the priority groups: pregnant women, people who care for infants under six months, health care and emergency services personnel, children six months to four years old and kids ages five to 18 with high risk medical conditions or compromised immune systems. If you live in Albany County and fall into one of those priority groups you can still register until 6:00AM Sunday online at www.albanycounty.com/health. Montgomery County is also holding a free vaccination clinic for H1N1. It's Saturday, November 21 from 8:00AM-Noon at two locations: St. Mary's Family Health Center in Amsterdam and the Canajoharie Family Health Center. The vaccine will only be available for county residents in priority groups like pregnant women, health care workers, children and young people under the age of 24.
