Pet owner charged for not getting treatment for dog

SCHENECTADY - A pet owner has been arrested for failing to provide medical attention for her dog, and the economy may have something to do with it.

Police say Elizabeth Moshier took her six-month-old pit bull Sheeba to the Aqueduct Animal Hospital in Niskayuna with a broken leg.

When she couldn't afford the treatment, police say Moshier left.

They say weeks later when the vet followed up he found out the dog's leg was still broken. The vet provided treatment and police were notified.

Moshier is facing misdemeanor charges.
