Education commissioner tours Tech Valley High
RENSSELAER - Students at Tech Valley High School got a visit from New York's top education officials Thursday morning.
The new state education commissioner, David Steiner, was among officials visiting the school.
They toured the facility, visited every classroom and spoke with teachers and students.
Steiner says he's happy with what he saw.
"The students are clearly enjoying it. They're learning. Their results are good. And at the same time there is a sense of purpose, sense of understanding why you're doing what you're doing and why you're learning what you're learning," Steiner said.
Tech Valley High was created by special state legislation in 2007.
The school puts a strong emphasis on math, science and technology.
