The Catskill tourism and travel industry wants the public's help in creating a new brand & image for the popular upstate New York region.
The organization is holding a contest to find a catchy and memorable tagline that captures the essence of the visitor experience, and reflects the natural, recreational, historic and community treasures of the region and the pride of the folks who continue to live and visit the beautiful Catskills area.
The Catskills Park Resource Foundation's (CPR) mission is to support the area's travel and tourism industry. It was founded following the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Irene last August.
A panel of judges will choose the top five entries and announce them in a press conference to be held before July 27. Finalists and CPR supporters will invite all members of the general public to vote online for their favorite tagline. The $1,500 grand prize winner will be announced on August 25th at "Comedy in the Catskills” with Susie Essman, a benefit concert, taking place at Belleayre. Tickets for the benefit comedy concert can be purchased at www.belleayremusic.org.
