Police: Woman arrested in connection to string of purse thefts

AMSTERDAM - The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has arrested a woman in connection to a string of purse thefts. 

Deputies allege that on five separate occasions since May 24th, Roxanne Sharp entered businesses on Route 30 North in the Town of Amsterdam and stole purses. She targeted elderly females whose purses were momentarily unattended in shopping carts.

Sharp is in Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail.

Members of the New York State Police, as well as the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office assisted the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
