The 44 Senate District contains part of Albany and Rensselaer Counties.

Note: Incumbent Hugh Farley (R) is running for re-election in District 49.

Democrat

·Neil D. Breslin - Incumbent Breslin first assumed office in District 46 in 1997. In addition to running on the Democratic ticket, Breslin is running on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets.

Republican
