STEPHENTOWN - A 20-year-old is now facing charges in connection with a deadly accident, in Stephentown.

Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office is holding a news conference on the topic Wednesday night.

Brendan Hoffman faces six charges including aggravated vehicular homicide.

He was released on a $20,000 bail.

Police say in late June, Brendan Hoffman’s car flipped over several times on Cranston Hill Road.

24-year-old Christopher Baker was thrown from the car and died.

Police say after the crash, Hoffman took off without telling emergency responders that another person was in the car.

It was Hoffman’s father who called the sheriff's department four hours later to report his son had a passenger in that car.

Rescue crews returned to the scene and found Baker's body in the woods.
