Poughkeepsie's Stephen Saland cast the deciding vote for gay marriage last year.
It turns out he, too is in a nail-biting primary race for the 41st State Senate District.
Right now, only 42 votes separate Saland from his republican challenger, Neil Dicarlo.
That's with 100% of the precincts reporting.
Absentee ballots will be counted September 20.
