Meeting set to review Cabaret Law

ALBANY - A committee meeting is scheduled later this month in Albany, regarding a proposal to change the so-called Cabaret Law.
Two members of Albany’s Common Council introduced their amendment during last night's meeting.
The law requires bars and restaurants in Albany to apply for a yearly permit to have live entertainment.
But critics say it also allows the city to limit the hours certain bars can stay open.
That's what Anton Konev and Ron Bailey want changed.
The amendment would also eliminate part of the Cabaret Law forcing people younger than 21-years-old to leave bars by 11p.m.
