When a woman has her life up-ended due to divorce, disability or death of a spouse, the Women's Employment Resource Center (WERC) is there to help, but with the economy still sputtering and state aid dramatically cut, WERC has needed it's own helping hand.
That's what made today's record turnout at WERC’s award celebration so encouraging for the folks who run the organization.
Since WERC opened it's doors in 1988, almost 6,000 women have been served.
“It's a community organization that really helps women succeed, advance their skills and help them find employment that will keep them self sufficient,” says Elizabeth Miller, Executive Director or WERC
