EAST GREENBUSH - A New Jersey woman is accused of slamming into the back of an East Greenbush Police car, and authorities say she was drunk at the time.

East Greenbush Police say 68-year-old Valerie Kennedy rear-ended one of their cruisers in her 1997 Chevy pick-up at the Couse traffic circle on Sunday.

No one was hurt.

Police say Kennedy told the officer she was heading back to her home in New Jersey from her seasonal place in Lake George, but she couldn't explain why she was in East Greenbush. In fact, Kennedy thought she was already in New Jersey.

Kennedy failed several field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. She had a blood alcohol content of 0.27 percent, which is more than three times the legal limit.

She is charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and driving with an open container of alcohol.

Kennedy was released on her own recognizance and will appear in court next month.
