FORT ANN, N.Y. (AP) - State transportation officials say they'll be doing more work along a stretch of eastern New York road closed last month by a massive rock slide.

They tell NewsChannel 13's media partners at the Glens Falls Post-Star  that the southbound lane of Route 4 in Fort Ann will be closed starting Monday, reducing it to one lane. It may reopen Friday if the work removing more rock is completed.

The road is a main route between Vermont and New York.

A cliff collapsed on Oct. 15, sending 2,000 tons of rocks onto 200 yards of the road, narrowly missing several vehicles.

Geologists said it was undermined by flowing water.
