EAST SCHODACK - There was confusion this morning in Rensselaer County over the governor's executive order allowing voters displaced by Hurricane Sandy to cast ballots by affidavit at any polling place.

In East Schodack, displaced voters were told they had to fill out an affidavit ballot at the county board of elections in Troy.

NewsChannel 13 called the governor's office to clarify the order. It turns out that displaced voters can go to any polling place to cast a paper ballot in the presidential and senate races.

Thanks to our call, the change has now been made in Rensselaer County.
