An Albany man will spend the next 18 years in prison for shooting another man to death last year.

Maleek Johnson was sentenced this morning.

He pled guilty to shooting 28-year old Ishmael Dowling last July.

Dowling was driving near the intersection of Third Avenue and Broad Street when he was shot in the back.

He crashed his car and was dead when police arrived.
