Celebrity chef Sandra Lee speaks out about volunteering

Celebrity chef and girlfriend of Governor Cuomo, Sandra Lee, says Hurricane Sandy really highlights the need to help others.

NewsChannel13 spoke to her today via satellite.

"What people don't understand is you really need to volunteer...in your community," she said.

Lee says she and the governor both plan to volunteer in food lines this upcoming Thanksgiving.

She's says she plans to keep the holiday simple and won't be cooking a turkey.

She also plans to serve the same meal at Christmas.
