ALBANY - There's a deadline today in the criminal case against former New York State Senate majority leader Joe Bruno.
His conviction in federal court on misusing his office was thrown out and Bruno’s attorney wants the judges to dismiss charges prosecutors have filed in order to try Bruno again.
Judge Sharpe wants to hear arguments from both sides on the motion to dismiss.
He may ask for them to come in and make oral arguments or he may just review the written submissions.
Bruno, who is now 83 years old, remains free.
