ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York state Assemblyman Jeffrion Aubrey and his committee are set to evaluate the educational and job-training efforts in state prisons during a hearing in Albany.

Aubry wants to see if changes are needed in the programs to help prisoners return to their communities with enough schooling and skills to move on with their lives.

The hearing Thursday is being run by Aubry's Correction Committee in the Assembly.

Testimony is expected to lead to improvements and reforms in prison programs.

State Corrections Commissioner Brian Fischer is scheduled to testify.
