CHESTER - The Warren County Sheriff's Office tells us just before 8:30 Saturday morning, near Fawn Ridge Road in the town of Chester, 53-year old Terry S. Lavergne was hunting with two other people in a heavily wooded area.

Lavergne was shot by another hunter in the left hip area. The round struck his femoral artery.

The Sheriff's Office tells us the other two hunters began lifesaving efforts, and brought Lavergne to the road to wait for EMS. Lavergne was taken to the Glens Falls Hospital, where he later died.

No criminal charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning.
