Police: Standoff in Rensselaer ends peacefully

RENSSELAER - A 24-year-old man Rensselaer man is in police custody after an hour standoff today.
Rensselaer Police say they got a call around 11:00am for a domestic dispute at 119 Washington Avenue.
The mother told police her son, Ricky LaCoy, was destroying property inside the house and she wanted him out.
When officers arrived, LaCoy barricaded himself inside his room. He said he had a weapon and if officers came in, he would use it on them.
Officers immediately evacuated everyone from the house.
After an hour LaCoy was convinced to come out peacefully.
Police searched the house, but did not find any weapons.
Lacoy was taken into custody
Police are still investigating the incident.
