Newschannel 13 has learned that UAlbany punter Paul Layton has verbally committed to Temple. He will begin taking graduate classes next month and will spend his final year of eligibility punting in the Big East.

The Burnt Hills native spent the weekend touring the Temple campus, including a trip to Lincoln Financial Field. The Owls are currently without a head coach, but it's still a great fit for Layton, who will study at the Temple Business School.

Layton is a two-time, All-NEC First-Team punter, and averaged 41 yards per punt this season. He will receive his undergraduate degree from UAlbany next weekend.
