SCHENECTADY - In Schenectady County, a fire has left a family without a place to call home for the holidays.

Firefighters were battling the flames just after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at 1616 Rugby Road in Schenectady.

The fire chief tells NewsChannel13 the fire appears to have started on the second floor.

Everyone was able to get out safely.

One firefighter hurt his knee and is being treated at the hospital.

The house was badly damaged, but the chief says it can be rebuilt.
