NISKAYUNA - A family from Niskayuna will welcome in the New Year in Pasadena California.
They will take part in the Tournament of Roses Parade.
Tom and Sue Van Wert lost their daughter Delany to a brain aneurysm in 2010.
They donated Delany's organs and want to make others aware of the importance of organ donations.
A portrait of Delany, made entirely of flowers, will adorn a parade float called Donate Life.
According to the Center for Donation and Transplant, there are 115,000 people in this country waiting for an organ replacement.
And each day, 17 people lose their lives because there are no organs available.
