ALBANY - The plan to open a brew pub in the former Saint Joseph’s Church in Albany is stirring controversy.
The Historic Albany Foundation owns the church and backs the plan.
The final decision lies with the board of zoning appeals.
However, the Common Council has passed a resolution calling it inappropriate. Opponents say opening a brew pub in the former church would destroy the residential character of that area.
