NISKAYUNA - Local school districts like Niskayuna are re-evaluating their safety procedures in light of the Newtown shootings.

Craig Elementary School is notifying parents of a new buzzer system.

Now when visitors arrive at the school they have to use an intercom system in order to announce their arrival so a staff member can let them in.

Previous measures will remain in place. That includes having an appointment or other approved reason for a visit, signing in and out and wearing a visitor badge.
