Embattled investigator John Burke is no longer employed with Albany County.

Sheriff Craig Apple says the county severed ties with Burke on Wednesday.

No severance will be paid. But he will be paid out his accruals.

Burke is a veteran sheriff's inspector who was getting full pay while living in Florida.

He had also been collecting a police pension while being certified for several statuses.
