SCHENECTADY - The Schenectady City Council will meet at around 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

One item on the agenda is a resolution authorizing a tax exemption for the Calvary Baptist Church.

The council is also expected to restore funding for a third assistant police chief.

The council cut funding for two assistant chief positions from the mayor's budget in October.

One of those positions is held by Brian Kilcullen.

He is expected to become chief next week when Mark Chaires retires.
