Lawmakers want better background checks

ALBANY - Two state lawmakers say they want to protect seniors from being preyed upon by dangerous ex-felons.
Assemblyman Jim Tedisco and State Senator Kathy Marchione are responding to the arrest of Richard Ragone.
He is accused of groping a 91-year-old woman at the Loudonville Home for Adults, where he worked as a maintenance man.
Ragone is a registered sex offender.
Tedisco and Marchione want to require adult homes to do background checks on all employees.
