A Washington County man is under arrest, accused of emailing threats about killing school children, firemen and little old ladies.

The sheriff's department says 55-year-old Walter Hammond, of Granville, was trying to buy a rifle from a gun dealer in Pennsylvania when he got frustrated over a federal background check.

They told police about his email and police charged him with aggravated harassment.

They say he was never really planning any kind of attack.
