Schenectady - One out of every six American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. That's according to authorities in Albany county and they say they want to reduce that number. They're doing it by offering the RAD program to anyone who lives or works in Albany county. RAD stands for rape aggression defense and has been around for 25 years, 15 in the Capital Region. The county will pay for the program using forfeiture funds thanks to a partnership with the district attorney's office. They showed us how the training works in Schenectady. Cindy Forte says they don't teach martial arts. They teach women how to break away, escape and survive. To sign up, email Cindy at cindy.forte@albanycounty.com
