Black eye for Major League Baseball

If you were wondering how baseball would deal with the legacy of some of it's greatest players whose careers have been overshadowed by their association with performance-enhancing drugs, you got your answer on Wednesday when Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were not even close to getting into the Hall of Fame. In fact no one gets into the Hall of Fame this year, which is a black eye on baseball, and could start a very ugly trend. Bonds and Clemens not getting in comes as no surprise, but the baseball writers also penalized players like Mets catcher Mike Piazza who never failed a test but is guilty by association.
