Water main break in Niskayuna

NISKAYUNA - A large part of Niskayuna is being affected by a water main break tonight.

Authorities say traffic is being detoured around the break which happened in the area of Mohawk and Rosendale roads.

Crews are working to get it fixed, but much of the town is without water right now.

Police say their phone lines are being overwhelmed with water-related calls and want to remind people that 9-1-1 should only be used for an emergency.

They don't know when service will be restored, but are asking people to please be patient.
