BALLSTON SPA - U.S. Army Col. Thomas Palmatier is from Ballston Spa. He conducted the U.S. Army Band, which led the presidential escort during the inaugural parade.
Before he left, Palamtier told NewsChannel 13 it was a privilege to take part in such an historic moment.
"I've had the opportunity to live in foreign countries where it may not always be the smooth transfer of power we have in this nation, so I think every four years we get to celebrate our Constitution. So it's terrific to be a part of it," he said.
Palmatier has overseen the band through the past four presidential inaugurations.
