Bennington Sears store looking for new owner

BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Sears is seeking a new owner to operate its store in Bennington, Vt.
The Sears Hometown Store is currently open and being managed by its corporate parent, Sears, Roebuck and Co., which has advertised that it is for sale.
The Bennington Banner reports the previous owner opted not to renew the lease. It expired Dec. 31.
Last Black Friday, employees at the Sears reported strong sales when they opened during the evening on Thanksgiving. They said many of their sales on the following day were people picking up things they ordered online.
