FORT EDWARD - The parents of the Fort Edward teen who was shot and killed last June are accepting responsibility in their son's death.

NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Post-Star report Louis and Nichole Cota admitted to child neglect Wednesday by allowing their son access to the shotgun that killed him.

Their son, 13-year-old Gary Cota, died after he was shot in the head in the family's home.

A friend of Gary's was in the room at the time, but not hurt.

That boy has not been charged, though prosecutors are considering the possibility.
