New state law requires insurance companies to seek out beneficiaries

You may be entitled to money and not even know it, thanks to new state regulations, insurance companies are now required to seek out beneficiaries to pay death benefits.

Before, they simply waited for someone to make a claim.

Since 2011, more than $665 million have been paid to people who were unaware they were entitled to money.
