ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A new poll finds most New York voters support much of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's progressive agenda, despite a decline in his overall favorability prompted by his recent gun control law.

The Quinnipiac University poll shows New Yorkers' top priorities include Cuomo's call for equal pay for women, raising the minimum wage and reducing the influence of money in politics.

It didn't ask about Cuomo's proposal to strengthen abortion laws.

Quinnipiac Director Maurice Carroll says Thursday the poll shows support for Cuomo's agenda. He says Cuomo's overall 15-point drop in favorability appears linked to his gun control push, not his broader agenda as Carroll believed on Wednesday.

Quinnipiac surveyed 1,127 voters from last Wednesday to Monday. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.
