ALBANY – New York State Senator Cecilia Tkaczyk hand-delivered her first resolution Friday as the representative of New York’s newly created 46th Senate District.

The resolution was to honor Fordyce Post, a Lloyd resident, on his 100th birthday.

“This distinguished man has experienced the incredible joys and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those with the stamina and courage to savor a full life,” Tkaczyk said.

Post, a former employee of the New York Central Railroad, also worked on the construction of the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

The legislative resolution was adopted by the entire senate.

Cecilia Tkaczyk narrowly edged out George Amedore to win the seat after a two month long recount.
