Freight train derails outside Schenectady

GLENVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Crews were on the scene of a freight train derailment late Thursday, where multiple cars left the track and several overturned.

The derailment occurred Thursday. Some residents of nearby homes had to evacuate.
 
There are no reports of injuries.
 
Four of the cars overturned when they jumped the tracks.
 
Police say no hazardous materials were spilled during, but about 100 residents of a nearby trailer home park were evacuated as a precaution.
