Fire destroys Warren County apartment building

GLENS FALLS - A dozen people have been left homeless after an early morning fire causes substantial damage to an apartment building.

One woman says she, and several others, jumped out of a second story window to escape the flames.

Fire fighters remained on the scene, ripping apart pieces of the roof, and hitting the building with more water.

The flames spread quickly around five Friday morning.

The building on Shermantown Road has three full apartments, and six rooms for rent on the top floor.

About a dozen people lived here.

The fire started in a first floor apartment in the back of the building.

The damage is substantial; it's not safe for residents to return.

The building has been damaged by fire before
