Florida Town Clerk resigns after missing funds discovered

FLORIDA - The town clerk in Florida has resigned after thousands of dollars are discovered missing from the town coffers.

The Leader-Herald reports that Clerk Jacquelyn Francisco turned in her resignation, effective Feb. 28.

A State Comptroller's Audit previously revealed $19,000 in missing funds.

Those funds have since been paid back.

No charges were filed.
