RENSSELAER COUNTY - Rensselaer County legislators are calling for a safety review of Route 7 following a series of accidents.

The most recent accident happened last week in Hoosick. A tanker truck lost control, slid down an embankment and burst into flames.

The truck was carrying thousands of gallons of gasoline, much of which went into a nearby creek.

It's just one of two serious incidents involving tanker trucks in that area over the past two years.

Legislators want to review the road's lighting, visibility and signage.
