COLONIE - A traffic stop turned violent in Colonie where police say a woman attacked an officer.

It happened early this morning on Central Avenue.

Police say they pulled over a car for having tinted windows and the passenger, 19-year-old Denita Collier gave them a fake name.

When confronted about it, she took off.

Police used a taser on her, but because of the distance, it didn't work.

He caught up to her and during a struggle, they say she took the officer's baton and hit him in the head with it.

Despite the cut on his head, he was able to hold her down and she was taken into custody.
